The Avon Trail

The Avon Trail

Directions for the Bimini trail from the South to North: km 27.5 – km 30.6

Exit over the stile and cross the Perth- Oxford Rd turning right; head down the hill.  Enter the field on your left at the top of the hill; hiking down keeping the fence line to your left.

Cross left over a bridge and turn right into the short section of deciduous trees, exiting the tree area, continue travelling along the water’s edge turning left.

Enter the bush and travel along the logging trail.  This area is full of deer and pheasant.
Turn right when you have a cropped field in front of you.  Follow the edge of the bush on your right, keeping the woods on your right through various turns.

You will hike past a small open area as you turn left, hiking along the bush and again turn right, heading toward a mature forest; turning left at this forest, then hike directly straight between two property lines.  There should be cropped land on both sides of the trail.

At the cedar post turn right; cross a short field and enter into a bush keeping to the right; turning left and then right into a larger forested area.

Follow the trail, turn left, watching for the tree roots, eventually turning right and travel along a short logging road, until the trail turns left, and follows the water course curling right until you are turning left to cross the stones over the water.

Turn right up the hill to travel through the trees.  There should be water down below on your right and a cropped field to your left.

The trail then exits at the edge of a gully; then turn right down towards the spruce trees and then back up to cross over a stile turning left through the spruce and pine bush.

The trail exits from the bush on to Oxford rd 6, which you cross and turn left to approach the corner.  This is Perth line 20 where you turn right to cross over the culvert with an immediate turn left down to follow the water.
