Thames Valley Leads Workshop and builds New Bridge for Avon Trail

The Avon Trail Hiking Association was a recent recipient of a gift from the Thames Valley Trail Association. This gift was the construction of a beautiful 20 ft bridge just south of the Village of Amulree, built with two members of the Thames Valley Trail, Tom and Tillman, while also teaching the volunteers from the Avon Trail: Dave Martin, Dave Williamson, Ross Campbell, Warren Breedon, Dennis Rawe and Karen Hill. Our very special thanks go to the Thames Valley hikers and their Board of Directors and to Tillman for his instructions and patience and to Tom Friesen for making the arrangements. The construction of this bridge would also not have been possible without the permission of local landowners Mr Birkmann and Mr Ross Wilhelm. This bridge was constructed under the guidelines of the Bruce Trail Conservancy standards and will be enjoyed for generations of hikers.
